Last spring, we planned not one, but two engagement sessions for my son and his fiance. Both felt less like photo shoots and more like an afternoon spent laughing together. From the very beginning, this session was playful in the best way. There was no overthinking, no stiff posing. Just movement, teasing, wandering, and the kind of laughter that comes naturally when two people are completely at ease with each other. They laid in the grass with the flowers, kicked their feet, stole quiet moments, and laughed their way through the entire session. This is the kind of love I always hope to photograph. Relaxed, joyful, and full of personality. The kind where you don’t need direction because the connection does all the work. As a photographer, moments like these are gold. As a parent, they’re everything.
I can’t believe I never shared this sessions when we first did the shoot.. but maybe that’s okay. Sometimes it's fun to share when the wedding is a bit closer. This one is full of warmth, playfulness, and the kind of love that makes you smile without even realizing it.
